Wrightsil and Zuluaga Selected to All-Region XI Team

Henderson, Tenn. (11/16) - The RedHawks finished their 2007 season at the Region XI Tournament in Henderson, Tenn. Martin Methodist faced Trevecca Nazarene who the RedHawks had beaten four times this season. The Trojans were ready for the RedHawks and after MMC took the first two games of the match Trevecca came back strong winning the next three games to advance to the Region XI semifinals. The RedHawks had a great season clinching their 3rd TranSouth Regular Season Championship and finished with an overall record of 24-11 and a TranSouth record of 16-2.
RedHawks Fall in Championship Match
Batesville, Ark. (11/12) – The Martin Methodist College volleyball team played in the TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Lyon College this past weekend. Pulaski, Tenn. (11/6) – The Martin Methodist College volleyball team played their last regular season match tonight at home against Bethel College. Pulaski, TN (10/23) – After a tough road loss to Lyon College the Martin Methodist College RedHawks beat Union University 3-0 to sweep the Bulldogs in regular season TranSouth Conference play. Pulaski, TN (10/17) – The Trevecca Nazarene Trojans came to town last night and the RedHawks used their strong front line to come away with the 3-0 win and sweep TNU in regular season TranSouth play. Pulaski, TN (10/10) – In front of a pack house the RedHawks volleyball team beat the Freed-Hardeman University Lions 3-2 last night and is the only blemish on the Lions record thus far. (more) Wrightsil Selected Player of the Week
Nashville, TN (10/10) – LaKenya Wrightsil was selected the TranSouth Athletic Conference and NAIA Region XI volleyball player of the week for the week ending October 7th. Pulaski, TN (9/28) – After two tough 3-0 losses the Martin Methodist College volleyball team got back on track with a 4-1 win over TranSouth Conference opponent Lyon College. The win puts the RedHawks at 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the TSAC. (more) Lady Tigers Outlast RedHawks

(9/21) – The RedHawks Volleyball team played two tough TranSouth Conference matches this week on the road. MMC was able to pull out a 3-1 win against Trevecca on Tuesday but Thursday against Freed the RedHawks weren’t able to get the momentum going their way and dropped 3-0 to the Lions. LaKenya Wrightsil of Martin Methodist was selected as the Player of the Week, Cumberland’s Rachel Vanderburg was selected as the Libero of the Week and Kelly Huff of Trevecca Nazarene was chosen as the Setter of the Week. Cleveland, TN (9/14-9/15) – Over the weekend the RedHawks played in the annual Lee Invitational on the campus of Lee University. The RedHawks played Berry College, Emory University, and the host Lee University. Martin Methodist beat Berry and Lee but lost to Emory. The RedHawks are now 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the TranSouth. Pulaski, TN (9/5) Less than a week into the 2007 season, the RedHawks volleyball team is 3-0 and has defeated Dillard University, Millsaps College, and TranSouth Conference opponent Lambuth University. Nashville, TN – (8/22) Lakenya Wrightsil a senior outsider hitter from Big Spring, TX was selected to the Tennessean’s first ever Brains and Brawn Team. The team was conceived to honor area college student-athletes who excel in living up to both parts of that designation. (more)
RedHawks Ranked #24 in NAIA Pre-season Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (8/20) – Martin Methodist College was ranked number 24 as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Preseason Volleyball Top 25 was announced. This is the first time in the programs history that the RedHawks have been ranked in the top 25 pre-season poll. They finished the 2006 season 31-7 and 15-1 in the TranSouth Athletic Conference. The RedHawks also were the 2006 TranSouth Regular Season and TranSouth Tournament Champions. (more) RedHawks Sign Lisa Bundy for 2007 Season
The RedHawks sign Lisa Bundy an incoming freshman from Tallahassee, FL. She played for a strong North Florida Volleyball Club and will bring stability to the defense and serving game for MMC. Coach Rose Powell stated "I am excited to have her for the upcoming season. She bring good high school experience as well as club experience to the court."
RedHawks Sign Mallory Jones for 2007 Season
The RedHawks volleyball team signed Mallory Jones, she will bring some power to the front row along with some great defense skills.
