RedHawks Defeated in Semi-Finals
Nashville, Tenn. (4/18) – The RedHawks Tennis teams were defeated in the semi-finals of the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament yesterday at Vanderbilt University. Nashville, Tenn. – The TranSouth Athletic Conference announced the 2008 All-TranSouth teams for tennis. Martin Methodist College had three players represented. Jenny Herring was chosen as the Women’s Player of the Year. Melvin Prada and Mikaela Long were chosen second team All-TranSouth. Florence, AL (10/11) - Jenny Herring and Celso Ferreira won their respective singles matches to win the University of North Alabama’s fall tennis tournament this past weekend. The RedHawks played in a five team fall tournament, which included teams from the University of North Alabama, Cumberland University, Montevallo University, and Itawamba Community College. The Martin Methodist Men’s Tennis team is off to a 6-2 start winning their last 5 matches in a row. The RedHawks have defeated Lyon College, Lake Superior State University, St. Francis University, Ursinus College, Missouri Valley College and the University of Alabama Huntsville. (more)
