- Originally from Valrico, Florida where she graduated from Bloomingdale Sr. High School in 1998 where she was the starting catcher in softball and ran cross country.
- She then attended Santa Fe CC in Gainesville, FL on a softball scholarship and earned the starting role in centerfield.
- After only a year of junior college, Wright decided to move on to Division I powerhouse Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. At FAU she started at both centerfield and catcher her sophomore year then her last two seasons she was the starting shortstop. While at FAU the team won their conference title every season, and made three Regional appearances.
- In the summer of 2003 Heather was chosen to play for the Stratford Brakettes in Connecticut. The Brakettes finished the summer off by winning the Women's Majors National Championship that was played in Illinois.
- In August it was time to return to Florida and complete her Exercise Science degree which she earned in December of 2003.
- Heather joined the RedHawk program in the spring of 2004. She worked with the outfield and catchers at practice and then helped with the recruiting process. She was instrumental in the team’s success.
In the summer of ’04 Heather left TN to go to Ohio where she spent the summer playing for the Akron Racers. The Racers were one of the top teams in the National Pro Fastpitch League. Heather saw action in left field and as a designated hitter.
- Heather does a great job assisting with the talented RedHawk squad. She is instrumental at first base, where the number of doubles has greatly increased with her aggressive mentality. Heather is also in charge of the outfielders and catchers. Her work with them is very obvious. She is a great leader to the team and is a very vital part of our program.
- This past summer, Heather was asked to play with the Brakettes again, this time as a National Pro Fastpitch player. She spent the last month of the season with the Brakettes which finished second in the NPF tournament. When not playing with the Brakettes, Heather played competitive slow-pitch softball where she earned many all-tournament awards and was named USSSA All-American. She is now enrolled as a student at Martin Methodist in hopes of earning her second Bachelor's degree, this one in Nursing. She is also the Head Bowling coach for both the women and men.
