Tennessee State University: Sanders played for three years at TSU under the direction of Coach Joyce Maudie. She was named Team MVP in 2004. In her freshman year she had the highest batting average, tied the homerun record, and also had the most doubles.
Columbia Academy: Sanders played high school ball at Columbia Academy in Columbia, TN under the direction of Coach Marty Dejavnette. She was named All-District her 8th grade-11th grade years and was also named MVP four years.
