Three RedHawks Sign Pro Contracts
(3/31) - Three Martin Methodist College Women’s Soccer players sign professional contracts with the Icelandic Premier League. They will play for Afturelding FC. Afturelding is in Mosfellsbaer, Iceland. (more)

5 RedHawks Named NAIA All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Five members of the 2008 Martin Methodist College Women’s Soccer team were named NAIA All-Americans. Shannon Walter and Marcia Silva were named 1st Team All-American, Lisa Mann and Hanit Schwarz were named 2nd Team All-American and Julia Bazi was named Honorable Mention All-American. (more)
Martin Methodist Falls to Lee
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Sixth seeded Martin Methodist squared off in the 2008 NAIA National Tournament Quarterfinals against state rival third seeded Lee University on a sunny warm afternoon in central Florida. The RedHawks looked to avenge their loss to the Lady Flames earlier this season but after a hard fought battle lost in a penalty kick shoot out. (more)

RedHawks Advance to Daytona Beach
PULASKI, Tenn. (11/22) – The No. 3-ranked Martin Methodist College RedHawks hosted their first ever NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round with the No. 23-ranked Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan University being the opponent. The RedHawks came away with the 2-0 victory and will advance to the 16 team National Championship held in Daytona Beach, Fla. (more)
National Tournament Bracket Released
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The NAIA released the Women's Soccer National Championship bracket tonight for the 2008 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round. Martin Methodist College will host Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday November 22nd on the East Campus Soccer Field at 2:00. (more)

RedHawks Win 5th Straight Tournament Title
PULASKI, Tenn. (11/15) – The NAIA No. 3 Martin Methodist College RedHawks took on the Bethel College Wildcats this afternoon in the TranSouth Conference Tournament Finals. The RedHawks beat the Wildcats 4-0 to win their 5th Straight TranSouth Tournament Title. (more)

TranSouth All-Conference Team Announced
(11/12) – The 2008 TranSouth All-Conference Team was announced last night and the Martin Methodist College RedHawks had seven players selected to the 2008 All-Conference Team, including the TranSouth Player of the Year and the TranSouth Freshman of the Year. Gerry Cleary was selected the 2008 TranSouth Coach of the Year. (more)

MMC Rolls Past Union
PULASKI, Tenn. (11/11) – In a 2008 Women’s TranSouth Conference Tournament Semi-Final match the Martin Methodist College RedHawks beat the Union University Bulldogs 5-0. They will now play in the TranSouth Tournament Finals for the sixth straight year. (more)

LEBANON, Tenn. (11/5) – Freshman Nicole O'Donnell recorded a hat trick this afternoon as the RedHawks beat the Cumberland Bulldogs 10-0 in the last game of the regular season.(more)

RedHawks Win Fifth Straight TSAC Title
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Martin Methodist College Women’s Soccer Team won their fifth straight TranSouth Conference Regular Season Title. They clinched the 2008 Title with a 9-0 win over Trevecca Nazarene University Saturday. (more)

Coach Cleary Inducted into Lambuth Hall of Fame
JACKSON, Tenn. – Women’s soccer coach Gerry Cleary was inducted into the Lambuth University Hall of Fame last weekend. He was one of five inductees honored at a Hall-of-Fame Breakfast in the Jack Morris Ball Room on the campus of Lambuth University. (more)

Walter Shoots Martin Methodist Past AUM
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (10/29) - Shannon Walter scored two goals and had two assists to lead fourth-ranked Martin Methodist College to a 4-0 win over Auburn University at Montgomery in women’s soccer action. (more)

GEORGETOWN, Ky.– Friday the Martin Methodist College RedHawks played the Georgetown College Tigers in a non-conference road match. The RedHawks pounded away at the goal beating the Tigers 9-0. (more)

Coach Cleary Reaches 100 Career Wins
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Women’s Head Soccer Coach Gerry Cleary reached his 100th career win as a collegiate head coach. He joins an elite club in record time, just five seasons as a head coach. The RedHawks beat the Covenant College Lady Scots yesterday (10/21) afternoon 3-0. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn. (10/14) – Five seniors were honored from the RedHawks Women’s Soccer team and what better way to celebrate than to clinch the TranSouth Conference Regular Season Title for the fifth straight year. The RedHawks beat the Bulldogs of Union University 2-0. (more)

PULASKI, TENN. (10/12) – After more than a week with out a match the RedHawks turned out today and scored early and often. They flew past the Eagles of Robert Morris College 5-0 in a non-conference game on a breezing Sunday afternoon. (more)

RedHawks Drop to No. 4 in Latest NAIA Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (10/7) – There is a new No. 1 team and five programs have at least one top-ranked vote in the fifth regular season edition of the 2008 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, announced today (Oct. 7). Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) knocks off Martin Methodist (Tenn.) as the top program this week as the Blue Raiders earned 661 total points and 14 first-place votes. LWC has won three in-a-row including triumphs over No. 2 Lee (Tenn.) and most recently No. 10 Berry (Ga.). Lindsey Wilson is No. 1 for the first time since Sept. 19, 2007. (more)

Lee Hands MMC First Loss
PULASKI, Tenn. (10/4) – In a battle of top NAIA teams and of top Tennessee teams, rivals No. 1 Martin Methodist and No. 4 Lee University squared off today on the East Campus Soccer Field. Lee snapped Martin Methodist’s eight game winning streak beating the RedHawks 2-1. (more)

MMC No. 1 for 5th Straight Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (9/30) – Holding a 24-match unbeaten streak, Martin Methodist (Tenn.) remains No. 1 in the fourth regular season edition of the 2008 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, announced today (Sept. 30). The RedHawks, who won the 2007 National Championship and have been No. 1 in all five polls this year, have not lost in more than a year (Sept. 15, 2007). The last defeat came at the hands of Lee (Tenn.) in the 4-1 match. Martin Methodist is a perfect 8-0 this season and earned 21 of the possible 24 first-place votes this week. (more)

Pulaski, Tenn. (9/26) – Martin Methodist hosted TranSouth Conference rival Bethel College tonight at the East Campus Soccer Field. After an intense second half the RedHawks ended up on top 2-0. (more)

O'Donnell Named Player of the Week
HENDERSON, Tenn.
(9/22) –Nicole O’Donnell of Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College and Laura Pla of Union (Tenn.) University have been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference’s women’s soccer offensive and defensive players of the week respectively for the week ending Sept. 21, 2008. This is the second straight week that both players have received the honor.

Martin Methodist (Tenn.) holds at No. 1
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (9/16) – For the third straight time, Martin Methodist (Tenn.) is the No. 1 team in the second regular season edition of the 2008 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, announced today (Sept. 16). Standing with a perfect 4-0 record, the RedHawks hold the narrow lead over No. 2 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) by a 609-606 point margin. Martin Methodist owns a 25-1 goals advantage in its four wins. MMC hosts No. 4 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) on Friday (Sept. 19) in a non-conference battle. (more)

O'Donnell Named National Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (9/16)
– The 2008 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Players of the Week have been released for the second time this season. Northwood (Fla.) University junior Didi Jurman is honored as the NAIA Defensive Player of the Weekand Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College freshman Nicole O’Donnell is selected as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Sept. 8-14. These winners were chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week performers among 22 conferences, independents and unaffiliateds. (more)

Athletics: RedHawks Week Re-Cap
Pulaski, Tenn. (9/12) – The Men’s and Women’s Soccer Team played Crichton College this past Wednesday and the Volleyball team played Union University on Thursday. The Men’s Soccer team beat Crichton 4-0, the Women’s Soccer team took down the Comets by the impressive score of 16-0, and Union beat the RedHawks volleyball team 3-0. (more)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (9/10) – After two weeks into the season, Martin Methodist (Tenn.) holds its No. 1 spot in the first regular season 2008 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, announced (Sept. 9). The defending national champions earned 640 total points and 15 of a possible 23 first-place votes. The RedHawks have out-scored their opponents 9-1 in jumping out to a 3-0 record to start the year. RedHawks Take Down Rams 1-0
Pulaski, Tenn. (9/5) – After the first scheduled meeting between the University of Mobile Rams and the Martin Methodist College RedHawks was washed out by tropical storm Fay the two teams met tonight. It was a soggy, wet game but the RedHawks edged the Rams scoring in the 85th minute of the match. (more)

Reichert and Walter Named TSAC Players of the Week
HENDERSON, Tenn. (9/3) - Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College's Tiago Reichert has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference men's soccer offensive player of the week and Shannon Walter has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference's women's soccer players of the week for the week ending Aug. 30, 2008. RedHawks 2-0 in Weekend Tournament
Pulaski, Tenn. (9/2) – The No. 1 ranked RedHawks started out the 2008 season with two wins this past weekend. Martin Methodist hosted Illinois Tech University and Northwood University (Texas) in the Martin Methodist College Tournament. The RedHawks defeated Illinois Tech 5-0 on Saturday afternoon and defeated Northwood 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. (more)

RedHawks Tabbed No. 1 in Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (8/19)
– After securing its second national championship in the last three years, Martin Methodist (Tenn.) is ranked No. 1 in the 2008 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll, announced today. With 639 total points and 15 of a possible 23 first-place votes, the RedHawks start 2008 in defense of their 2007 national title. Senior defender Marcia Silva is slated to return for the RedHawks after she was named the 2007 Brine-NAIA Player of the Year. (more)
