Martin Methodist College: Shannon Walter returns to the RedHawks for her second season as a midfielder.
2006: In her freshman season, Walter played in all of the RedHawks 23 matches, starting eight. She scored 13 goals and had 21 assists for MMC. Walter was named the TranSouth Freshman of the Year, 2nd Team All-Conference and was also selected NAIA National Player of the Week for the week of October 29th. She is 2nd in RedHawks history with most assist in a season with 21.
High School: Walter played both at forward and center midfield during her four years at Larkin High school in Elgin, Ill. She served as captain of her squad during her junior and senior seasons, while becoming the school's all-time leading goal scorer and points leader with 102 goals, 94 assists and 297 points. She was selected to the All-Area Team, All-Conference Team and All-Sectional Team each of her four years, and helped her team win their first-ever regional championship as a senior on their way to a Top 16 finish in the state. The Chicago Tribune honored her as one of the top Players of the Year. In addition to soccer, she was also a four-year letter winner in basketball and three-year letter winner in volleyball.
