Sarah Prendergast

Martin Methodist College:
  Sarah Prendergast returns to the RedHawks for her third and final season of competition with the RedHawks. 

2006: Last season, Sarah played in 21 matches, starting 20.  She recorded 54 saves and 6 shutouts in her 1710 minutes played.  Prendergast was named a member of the TranSouth All-Conference Team, All-Region XI First Team and NAIA Honorable Mention All-American Team. She holds the MMC record of Most Minutes Played as a goalkeeper playing 3614:003 minutes for the RedHawks.

2005: Prendergast set a Martin Methodist record for goals allowed (7), shutouts (10) and goals against average (0.331), as she started and played in 23 matches. She also recorded 52 saves, while posting a 21-1-1 record on the year with 1903:57 minutes played. She was named a member of the TranSouth All-Conference Team, All-Region XI First Team and NAIA Honorable Mention All-America Team. Her total goals allowed and goals against average for the season are the fifth and sixth best for a season in NAIA women's soccer history respectively.

East Tennessee State University:  Spent two seasons at ETSU, being medical redshirted due to an elbow injury her first year, she served as a member of the ETSU Student Athletie Advisory Council. In 2004, she stepped into the goal as a freshman, playing in seven matches and starting in all six Southern Conference matches. She posted three shutouts, the second most by an ETSU keeper, with all three coming in consecutive games. Two of the shutouts help earn her SC Player of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 12, 2004, as she collected 21 saves against the College of Charleston and the Unviersity of Tennessee-Chattanooga. She gave up 10 goals on the season, for the third lowest goals against average in ETSU history at 1.53 a match. 

High School: Preped at Bayside High School for coach Holli Zander. While there, she was named Most Outstanding Senior, a member of the South Region All-Star Team, and received the Area 1 Award in 2003. She became the first student athlete from Bayside to receive a scholarship to play at an NCAA Division-I school. Prendergast also participated on club teams in Melbourne, Florida during high school. She was the Player of the Year in 2001 for the EAU Gallie United Fusion, and was a member of the Melbourne Beach Tsunami in 2002 when they finished runner-up in the Florida State Cup.


Personal:  Full name is Sarah Ann Prendergast…Birth Date: June 14th…Daughter of Micheal and Ellen Prendergast…Majoring in Psychology…In addition to drama and soccer, she enjoys writing, sleeping, singing, eating and playing any sport that involves a ball, her favorite movie is Boondock Saints and she loves the Florida Gators... Nickname: Stretch and Jolly
