Men’s Soccer: Freshman Bruno Mores Earns First TranSouth Player of the Week Honor

Batesville, Ark. (8/31) – Martin Methodist College’s Bruno Mores (Freshman/Monte Azul, Brazil) has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Aug. 29, 2010. The RedHawks secured their first win, 2-1, in the season opener against No. 18 Bethel (Ind.) College on Saturday for a 1-0-0 record so far.

Men’s Soccer: Sixth-Ranked MMC Edges No. 18 Bethel College, 2-1, in Home Opener
PULASKI, Tenn. (8/28) -- No. 6 Martin Methodist College took down No. 18 Bethel College (Ind.) in their season-opener on Saturday afternoon, with a final 2-1 score. Forward Bruno Mores (Freshman/Monte Azul, Brazil) opened his collegiate campaign as a RedHawk by scoring both MMC goals, one in each half.

Men's Soccer: MMC Earns No. 6 Ranking in NAIA Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (8/19) -- Martin Methodist's 2009 men's soccer team set the bar high for the upcoming season, as the RedHawks earned a trip to their first-ever NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. Head Coach Paschal Dunne guided MMC to the Elite Eight where the RedHawks fell to eventual National Champion Lindsey Wilson. This season, MMC is ranked No. 6 in the 2010 NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 poll, despite being chosen as the second place finisher in the TranSouth Athletic Conference.

FRESNO, Calif. (12/4) – The Martin Methodist College Men’s Soccer remarkable 2009 season has come to a close. After fighting through the post season and making the first ever Men’s Soccer National Championship, Lindsey Wilson shut down the run for the RedHawks in the 2009 Quarterfinals. (more)

FRESNO, Calif. (12/2) - The RedHawks continued their outstanding post-season form on Tuesday night with a mighty win over No. 8 seed Southern Poly State (Ga.) in the Sweet Sixteen of the 2009 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship in Fresno, California. (more)
 

Teams Square off Tonight
(12/1) – Martin Methodist College is one of only two schools in the NAIA to send both their men’s and women’s soccer teams to the 2009 NAIA Soccer National Championship. The Women will be playing close to home in Decatur, Alabama tonight at 7:00 CST while the Men will be playing in Fresno, California at 9:00 CST. Hattiesburg, Miss. (11/21) - Martin Methodist’s Fernando Barbeiro’s goal in the 85th minute propelled the RedHawks past No. 9 William Carey, 2-1 in the opening round of the 2009 NAIA National Tournament. (more)

RedHawks Game Preview
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (11/20) - against Martin Methodist will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to play in the first round of the 2009 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round. The RedHawks will kick-off against the Crusaders from William Carey University at Crusader Field on the campus of William Carey University Saturday at 7:00. (more)

RedHawks Upset No. 1, Win TSAC Tournament
MCKENZIE, Tenn. (11/14) - The RedHawk Men’s Soccer Team pulled off a historic victory on Friday in the TranSouth Conference Tournament Final against defending NAIA National Champion and NAIA No. 1 ranked Bethel University. MMC Tops Lyon; Advances to Finals
PULASKI, Tenn. (11/10) – The back side of Tropical Storm Ida’s winds blew strong on the East Campus Soccer Field tonight as the RedHawks blew past the Scots of Lyon College with a 1-0 win. The RedHawks will now advance to the Finals of the 2009 TranSouth Athletic Conference Soccer Tournament and face the No. 1 seed Bethel University. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn. (10/26) - It was another cold night at East Campus as the RedHawks took on NAIA soccer powerhouse Lindsey Wilson. The No.3 ranked Blue Raiders have won seven National Championships since 1995; are consistently ranked in the NAIA Top 25 poll; and considered one of the best teams in the Nation. (more)

HENDERSON, Tenn. (10/14) - After an arduous game against the No.1 ranked Bethel Wildcats, the MMC RedHawks returned to action Monday night against the Lions of Freed-Hardeman University. It was another TranSouth Conference matchup and a must win for Coach Dunne and the RedHawks. (more)

MMC Draws a Tie
MCKENZIE, Tenn. (10/12) - This past Friday saw the RedHawks on the road once again in what could be their most important game of the season. MMC faced off against the NAIA No.1 Wildcats of Bethel University who are the current NAIA National Champions. (more)

MMC Gets TranSouth Victory
PULASKI, Tenn. (10/7) - The RedHawks bounced back in emphatic style Tuesday night to seal their first victory in TranSouth Conference play this season. MMC had lost 2 consecutive games this past week and it was vital that Coach Dunne’s players gained a win to keep them in contention for this season’s honors. The visitors at East Campus were the Trojans of Trevecca. The Martin boys were fired up for this game and were out with something to prove. (more)

RedHawks Drop First TSAC Match
BATESVILLE, Ark. (10/5) - The No. 24 ranked RedHawk Men’s Soccer team was dealt a serious blow this weekend in their first TranSouth Conference matchup of the Season. The RedHawks travelled to Batesville, Arkansas to face the Scots of Lyon College. Lyon looked in decent form entering the fixture but had never beaten the RedHawks before. (more)

JACKSON, Tenn. (9/28) - After two weeks of no play, the RedHawks resumed their season on the road this past Saturday against the Blazers of Belhaven College. (more)

RedHawks Give it to Chargers
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (9/16) - Coach Dunne returned to his Alma Mater today as his RedHawks sought a much needed win against the Chargers of Alabama-Huntsville. Coach Dunne is a Hall of Famer at UAH and has been at the center of a recent rivalry between the two sides. That rivalry was renewed yesterday as the RedHawks, 19th in the nation, continued through their demanding schedule against the NCAA Div II side. (more)

RedHawks Move into Top 25
(9/9) – The Martin Methodist College Men’s Soccer team moved into the NAIA Top 25 yesterday as the first poll of the 2009 Regular Season was released. The RedHawks are currently ranked No. 16 in the NAIA. (more)

RedHawks Sweep Weekly Awards
BATESVILLE, Ark. (9/7) – Joseph Beecroft and Tiago Reichert of Martin Methodist College have been selected for the weekly TranSouth Athletic Conference men’s soccer awards. The award is selected for the week ending Sunday, September 6, 2009. (more)

MMC Draws a Tie
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (9/6) - The RedHawks sent a message to the rest of the TranSouth Conference this weekend in two games which highlights the RedHawks as a serious contender in the NAIA. Saturday afternoon would see them play the second game of a double fixture weekend. (more)

RedHawks Upset NAIA No. 9 Rams
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (9/4) - Friday afternoon’s match was the beginning of a tough upcoming weekend for the Martin Methodist College Men’s Soccer Team. After an impressive performance against Southern Indiana the RedHawks were looking to continue their winning start, this time on the road. (more)

MMC Knocks off USI
PULASKI, Tenn. (8/29) - It was a bright, sunny day at the East Campus Field this afternoon with the RedHawks, looking to make a strong start to the new season, pitting their wits against the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana. The NCAA DII Eagles boasted a strong, athletic team and would require a sturdy performance from the RedHawks. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn. (8/29) – In the season opener for the Martin Methodist College the RedHawks came from a first half deficit to top NCAA Division II University of Southern Indiana 5-1. (more)

RedHawks Host Men’s Soccer Alumni Game
PULASKI, Tenn. (8/21) - It has been a long summer for the RedHawk Men’s Soccer Team. Anticipation has been building since last year’s disappointing, and heartbreaking, penalty shoot-out loss at the hands of National Champions Bethel in the TranSouth Conference Final. The new season is almost upon us and tonight the RedHawks looked to exorcise the demons in the annual alumni game. (more)
