Baseball: Cumberland Defeats MMC 9-4
Lebanon, Tenn. (5/8) - After being delayed by rain today the RedHawks finally got to play. They were defeated by the Cumberland University Bulldogs 9-4. The RedHawks will now face the winner of the Trevecca Nazarene University/Campbellsville University game to try and keep their season alive. The scheduled game time is 2:30. Baseball: 2008 All-Region Team Announced
Lebanon, Tenn. (5/7) – The Martin Methodist College RedHawks are on a hot streak winning their first two games and scoring a total of 30 runs in the 2008 NAIA Region XI Tournament held this week in Lebanon, Tenn. Bobby Bratton and Josh Dorris were both selected to the All-Region Team. (more)

Softball: MMC Beats Union; All-Region Team Announced
Henderson, Tenn. (5/7) – After Union University eliminated the Martin Methodist RedHawks from the 2008 TranSouth Tournament, MMC came back with a big win in their first game of the 2008 NAIA Region XI Tournament to send Union to the losers bracket with a 7-3 win. (more)

Baseball: RedHawks Put Out Eagles
Lebanon, Tenn. (5/7) - The RedHawks crushed the ball again today scoring 18 runs in the second round of the 2008 NAIA Region XI Tournament, held in Lebanon, Tenn. on the campus of Cumberland University. The RedHawks eliminated the Lambuth University Eagles 18-7 and will play again tomorrow at 10:00 against an opponent that is still to be determined. Softball: Union Beats MMC in Extra Innings
Jackson, Tenn. (5/2) - It took an extra inning but the Bulldogs eliminated the RedHawks from the 2008 TranSouth Confrence Tournament by the score of 4-3. Martin Methodist will now wait and see if they get a bid to the Region XI Tournament that will be held next week at Freed-Hardeman University. More details will be posted as they become available.

Softball: RedHawks Beat Bethel to Stay Alive
Jackson, Tenn. (5/2) - It took six innings but the RedHawks finally managed to push a run across the plate for a 1-0 win to eliminated Bethel College from the 2008 TranSouth Tournament and stay alive to play another game. Nikki Osborne had the game winning RBI driving in Brooke Kelley who got aboard on a walk. The RedHawks will now face Union University at 3:00 today. Softball: Freed Sends MMC to Loser’s Bracket
Jackson, Tenn. (5/1) – Freed-Hardeman University beats MMC 2-1 tonight and sends the RedHawks to the loser’s bracket of the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament. Millington, Tenn. (5/1) – The RedHawks Baseball team had a great 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament but couldn’t get past the Cumberland Bulldogs today and were eliminated. The Bulldogs gave the RedHawks a 5-6 loss today. (more)

Jackson, Tenn. (4/30) – Martin Methodist College Softball Team had six players make the 2008 TranSouth All-Conference Team. Four RedHawks were selected First Team All-Conference and two were selected Second Team All-Conference. (more)

Softball: RedHawks Finish Regular Season 2nd in TSAC
Jackson, Tenn. (4/30) - The RedHawks finish the regular season 40-11 overall, 29-7 and 2nd place in the TranSouth Athletic Conference. They will be playing in the 2008 TranSouth Confernce Tournament which starts today in Jackson, Tenn. on the campus of Union University. Baseball: MMC Comes Back With Big Win
Millington, Tenn. (4/29) - After losing a close first game in the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament the RedHawks came back with a big 17-3 win over Bethel College. They will move on and play the loser of the Freed-Hardeman/Lyon game tomorrow at 3:30 in USA Stadium. Hector Lora had two triples and six RBI in the RedHawks win. Matt Sakowicz pitched six innings allowing only one earned run.

Baseball: Bratton Named TranSouth Player of the Year
Millington, Tenn. (4/29) – Senior Bobby Bratton was named the TranSouth Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Seniors Cliff Panezich and Josh Dorris were named First Team All-Conference and Senior Taylor Bates was chosen for the TranSouth Gold Glove Team. (more)

Baseball: RedHawks Lose a Close One in Tourney
Millington, Tenn. (4/28) – The RedHawks played the Cumberland University Bulldogs on day one of the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament. It was a close game but the Bulldogs got the edge to take the game 6-5 and move on to the winner’s bracket. The RedHawks will play tomorrow at 1:00 in a win or go home game. (more)

Pulaski, Tenn. (4/25) – It was senior day today and senior Bobby Bratton was enjoying his last game at Sam Davis Park by hitting three homeruns and a double to lead the RedHawks in a 10-3 win over Bethel College. (more)

Women’s Soccer Team Wraps up Spring Training
(4/24) - This was a great spring season for the RedHawks. The ladies played some great competition this spring. They played, University of Memphis (NCAA Division I), Arkansas Little Rock (NCAA Division I), University of Alabama (NCAA Division I), University of Alabama-Birmingham (NCAA Division I), and Columbus State (NCAA Division II). The RedHawks played all the games away and came out with a record of 1-2-2. (more)

Softball: RedHawks Sweep Eagles on Senior Day
Pulaski, Tenn. (4/19) – Three seniors were honored today as the RedHawks softball team swept the Lambuth University Eagles. The RedHawks have won their last eight in a row. They won both games by a score of 10-2 and both games were cut to six innings because of the run rule. (more)

Tennis: RedHawks Defeated in Semi-Finals
Nashville, Tenn. (4/18) – The RedHawks Tennis teams were defeated in the semi-finals of the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament yesterday at Vanderbilt University. Cumberland University defeated the men’s team 7-2, while Bethel College defeated the women’s team 9-0. (more)

Nashville, Tenn. – The TranSouth Athletic Conference announced the 2008 All-TranSouth teams for tennis. Martin Methodist College had three players represented. Jenny Herring was chosen as the Women’s Player of the Year. Melvin Prada and Mikaela Long were chosen second team All-TranSouth. (more)

Men's and Women's Golf Compete in TranSouth Conf. Tourney
Nashville, Tenn. (4/14) - The Men's and Women's Golf Teams are competing the 2007-2008 TranSouth Conference Touranment. After the first round of play today the RedHawk Men are in 3rd place and the RedHawk Women are in 4th place. They will conclude play tomorrow with the final round. Pulaski, Tenn. (4/14) – The RedHawks softball team had a busy week last week playing eight TranSouth Conference game in six days. They swept Crichton College and Cumberland University while they split with Freed-Hardeman University. Women’s Golf: Women Break 400 for the First Time
Pulaski, Tenn. (4/4) – The RedHawk Women’s Golf Team competed in the RedHawk Classic hosted by Martin Methodist College earlier this week. The women broke 400 for the first time in the programs history and placed third in the tournament which was played at the Henry Horton State Park Golf Course in Chapel Hill, Tenn. (more)

Pulaski, Tenn. (4/2) – The Martin Methodist College RedHawks hosted NAIA No. 7 Tennessee Wesleyan College Bulldogs tonight in a non-conference game. The RedHawks took the game 7-6 in ten innings and move to 20-13-1 overall. (more)

Women’s Golf: RedHawks Compete in Spring Tournaments
The Martin Methodist College Women’s Golf Team has participated in their first two tournaments of the spring. They played in the 1st Community Bank Scots Invitational hosted by Lyon College on March 16th and 17th where they placed 6th. Men’s Soccer: 2007 Team Awards Given Out
Pulaski, Tenn. (3/25) – The Martin Methodist College Men’s Soccer team gave out team awards yesterday for the Most Valuable Player, Best Offensive Player and Best Defensive Player, and Best Mid-Fielder from the 2007 season. The awards are voted on by the team. (more)

Women’s Soccer: RedHawks Honored at Banquet
Nashville, Tenn. – Feb 29th was a great occasion for Tennessee Sports and the MMC RedHawks. The 2007 NAIA National Championship RedHawks were honored in Nashville, by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame as an Amateur Team of the Year. This is the second year in a row the RedHawks women’s soccer team has received this high honor. Bowling: Martin Ladies like Vegas
On March 13th, the RedHawks took a long trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. Both Men’s and Women’s teams were surprised this year when, the trip for the ITC sectional qualifier usually routes them to Chattanooga, sent them to Las Vegas. This was the second time this season for some to the players to make the trip out to Las Vegas. (more)

Men's Basketball: RedHawks Drop Energy Packed Game
KANSAS CITY, Mo.

The RedHawks lost their first round game at the 71st Annual Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship 85-89 to Wayland Baptist University. It was an energy packed game that came down to the last seconds. The game featured 10 ties and 11 lead changes. (more)

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the field of 32 teams for the 71st Annual Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship, which will be held March 19-25 in Kansas City, Mo. Pulaski, Tenn. (3/10) – After the weekend series looked to be snowed out, the weather warmed up and melted the snow in time for the RedHawks and the Eagles to get in a double-header on Sunday afternoon. MMC won the first game 6-2 and Lambuth won the second game 3-1. (more)

Women’s Basketball: RedHawks Fall to No. 13 Lambuth
Pulaski, Tenn. (2/28) The RedHawks fell to the No. 13 Eagles 71-78 tonight in their last regular season game. Tonight was senior night and four RedHawk seniors were honored. Diane Frost, Raina Sutton, Amellia Toole, and Nina Robinson are all seniors this year on MMC’s team. All four were junior college transfers that joined the RedHawks program last season. (more)

Women’s Soccer: Charnley Signs to Play in Icelandic Premier League
Pulaski, Tenn. (2/28) - Martin Methodist College senior Victoria Charnley (Manchester, England) signed with Afturelding FC in Iceland. Afturelding FC plays in the Icelandic Premier league. Afturelding is located in Moso, a suburb of Reykjavik. (more)

Pulaski, Tenn. (2/25) – Junior Brooke Kelley had a homerun in every game the RedHawks played this past weekend in the MMC Spring Tournament. The RedHawks were 4-1 on the weekend’s games. (more)

Women’s Basketball: RedHawks Win Close Game at Cumberland
(2/25) – Martin Methodist traveled to Lebanon, Tenn. this past weekend to play Cumberland University in their second to last regular season game of the 2008 season. The RedHawks pulled out the win in the last seconds of the game 75-74. (more)

Men’s Basketball: RedHawks Win Ten Straight
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (2/22) Martin Methodist (24-4, 15-3) broke into the NAIA’s top ten this week for the first time in school history. They also won their 10th straight TranSouth Conference game last night against NAIA No. 17 Trevecca (19-7, 11-5) 80-70. (more)

Women’s Basketball: Trojans Outlast RedHawks in Double OT
NASHVILLE, Tenn.  (2/22) – Martin Methodist (14-14, 7-9) was on the road at NAIA No. 19 Trevecca (15-9, 9-5) last night. The game went to double-overtime before Trevecca pulled ahead for the 101-89 victory. (more)

(2/15) - Currently in Women’s College Bowling, Martin Methodist College’s Hayley Beavis is the Nations top Bowler with a 204.561 average in 57 games. Hayley has played in eight bowling tournaments so far this season and has placed in the top 15 in all but one. She took home top honors placing first in the Honike Bearcat Open in Cincinnati, Ohio in January. Men's Basketball: RedHawks Win Six in a Row
Pulaski, Tenn. (2/11) - The Martin Methodist College Men's Basketball team won their sixth game in a row tonight. The RedHawks defeated Freed-Hardeman 82-68.  The win keeps the RedHawks in second place in the TranSouth just one game back from Lambuth University. The RedHawks move to 21-4 overall and have a 12-3 record in the TranSouth.

Baseball: RedHawks Sweep Weekend Series
Pulaski, Tenn. (2/11) – NAIA No. 14 Lindenwood University (Mo.) came to town this past weekend for a four game series with the RedHawks. MMC had a great weekend, winning all four of the games. (more)

Baseball: RedHawks Drop Two on Opening Day
Pulaski, Tenn. (2/4) – The RedHawks baseball team opened up yesterday with a double-header against the No. 16 Auburn University Montgomery Senators. The Senators took game one 1-0 and in the night cap they won 9-6. (more)

(1/24) – The Martin Methodist College Women’s Basketball Team hosted the No. 16 ranked Trevecca Nazarene University tonight at the Curry  Christian Life Center. After a loosing two in a row to top 25 teams the RedHawks were able to bounce back with a close 71-70 win over the Trojans.(more)

Women's Soccer: Gerry Cleary Recieves Two National Coach of The Year Awards
BALTIMORE, Md. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is proud to announce that Gerry Cleary of Martin Methodist (Tenn.) is the 2007 Brine-NAIA Women's Soccer National Coach of the Year and the NSCAA Coach of the Year. The honors were officially announced on Friday, January 18, at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Annual Convention in Baltimore. (more)

Men’s Basketball: Crichton Snaps MMC’s Win Streak
Pulaski, Tenn. (1/18) – The RedHawks lost a hard fought battle last night to the Comets from Crichton College 76-84. The loss snaps a 10 game winning streak for the RedHawks and puts them in a three-way tie for second place in the TranSouth with just one loss (5-1) in conference play. Men's and Women's Basketball 2-0 in TSAC Play
(1/8) - The Martin Methodist College Men's and Women's Basketball Teams are off to a 2-0 start in the TranSouth Athletic Conference.  The teams have defeated Lyon College and Mid-Continent University.  The RedHawks will be at home this Thursday, January 10th to host their first conference games against Bethel College from McKenzie, Tenn.  The women tip off at 6:00 in the CLC followed by the men at 8:00.


Men's Bowling Team Hits it Big in Vegas
Las Vegas, Nev. - On December 15th the Martin Methodist Men's Bowling Team went on an inaugural trip to Las Vegas for the ASU Las Vegas Invitational and the Sam's Town Shootout. (more)

John B. Hendry Medical Benefit
John B. Hendry was the RedHawk Mascot Trainer for Rowdy at Martin Methodist College. John had
a very bad car wreck in July in which he broke his neck.

Women’s Basketball: MMC Tops Brescia
Pulaski, Tenn. (12/19) – The MMC Women’s Basketball team played Brescia University in their final non-conference game of the 2007-2008 season last night. The RedHawks topped the Bearcats 55-48. They will go into the holiday break with a 7-5 record. (more)

Men’s Basketball: RedHawks Beat Eagles
Pulaski, Tenn. (12/18) – The No. 18 ranked Martin Methodist College Men’s Basketball team finished out their non-conference schedule this past weekend with a win over Faulkner University. That is the second time the RedHawks have beaten the Eagles this season.
