Inducted November 10, 2001 1960 Graduated Murfreesboro Central (TN)- Basketball Team won 31 straight games, finishing 32-1, losing to State Champ Hampton- named to Banner All-State Team. 1960-62 Activities at Martin Methodist College: Duke of May Day, King of May Day, President of Student Body, Co-Captain of Basketball Team, 1962 Dixie Conf. Champions. 1962-65 Attended Peabody College on Ford Foundation Study-Teach accelerated program and received a B.S. and M.A. 1965-69 Named Head Basketball Coach at Martin Methodist College, 1966 won Dixie Conf. Championship, Coaching record at Martin Methodist 61-37. 1969-70 Named Assistant Basketball Coach at Middle Tennessee State University 1970-72 Entered Business as General Manager of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Pulaski. 1973-83 President of Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. of the South, in 1981 received PepsiCo. Chairmans Award The Don Kendall Award for the franchise bottler with the Highest sales increase of Pepsi Cola in the U.S. 1983 President of TCI (Tel Control) Huntsville, (AL)- Telecommunications Company specializing in Public States, 500 communities, Canada, Mexico and the Pacific Rim. 1983 Founding Director of Citizens Independent Bank, Huntsville (AL) now First Commercial Bank. 1992 Member of the Martin Methodist College Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Athletic Committee.
