Richard Askey joins the Martin Methodist Coaching staff this fall as a student assistant. Askey, a senior from Burton-on-Trent, England came to MMC upon graduation from DeFerrere High School in 2003. That fall Askey led the RedHawks in scoring and was dubbed the team's most valuable player. In 2004, Askey completed his eligibilty after scoring 11 goals and 14 assists, good for second and first on the team respectively. He started and appeared in all 18 games without receiving a single caution. 

This fall, Askey used his excellent dribbling and finishing ability to become the first MMC alum to ever score a goal against the RedHawks in their annual pre-season Alumni soccer match.
