Norm Titus Assistant Coach Bowling
Norm Titus returns for his second season with the RedHawks bowling program in its inaugural season for women's bowling to help serve as the assistant coach and bring his professional bowling expertise to the collegiate ranks.
A former member of the Professional Bowling Association Pro Tour, Titus currently serves as the House Pro and conducts reserach and development testing for Ebonite at the RedHawks' home facility, Ebonite's Galaxy Lanes, in Columbia, Tenn. Before coming to Galaxy Lanes, Titus worked five years with Kegel in research and development testing. With Kegel, he tested individual lane conditions, lane mainanence, PBA tour lane maintenance and helped build bowling centers. This experience brings an advantage to the RedHawks program, as Titus helps prepare his teams in advance for upcoming meets at different bowling centers with his knowledge of oil patterns.
Titus spent five years on the PBA Tour, and captured seven PBA Regional Titles. He is in his first year as a coach for Columbia Central High School and is a certified United States Bowling Congress Silver Level coach. He returned to competition in June 2006 at the USBC Open Championships in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he placed second out of more than a thousand bowlers with a score of 811. He lead the competition for three weeks before his score was beat on the final day of competition.
