Matt Rackley returns for his second season as the head coach for men's and women's golf. He took over the men's program in the August 2005, while also starting the inaugural women's golf program. During his first season he had two golfers, one male and one female, earn a spot on the All-TranSouth Athletic Conference Team at the TSAC Championship in Hendersonville, Tenn. 

Starting the women's golf program was not Rackley's first experience in starting programs. A 1978 graduate of Giles County High School, Rackley helped start the GCHS golf team in 1976. After high school, he went on to attend MMC for two years before going to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he earned his Bachelors in Business Administration in 1982.

Rackley came to MMC after 20 years in the family business, Rackley Systems, a computer software manufacturer for insurance companies. After the business was sold in 2003, he completed his United States Golf Teachers Foundation certification in Myrtle Beach, SC in March 2004, certifying him to give private lessons. 

Rackley has been highly active in the local golf community as a member of the Junior Golf Program at the Hillcrest Country Club. He has been a Hillcrest Club board member for eight years and association member for six. In 2000 he was the Hillcrest Club Champion, and has finished as runner-up several times. He is also a member of the USGA and a PGA Partners lifetime member.

In addition to golf, Rackley says active in the Pulaski community, coaching in and serving as Vice President of the local Babe Ruth baseball league, and enjoying the fun of tailgating at Tennessee Titans and Tennessee Volunteers football games.

He and his wife Connie reside in Pulaski with their two sons Joseph (14) and Garrett (13).
