Jose Robles Assistant Coach Baseball
Jose returns for his second season as a student assistant coach in charge of the RedHawks' pitching staff. He is the son of Jose A. Robles and Margarita Rodriguez. He came to the United States in 2000 where he played at Jefferson Community College in St. Louis, Missouri. He was drafted in the 45th round by the Yankees in his 2nd year. Jose spent 2 yrs at Martin Methodist where he was the top pitcher on the team. He was an All-Conference player notching a 2.43 ERA with 58 strike outs in 76 innings. His last year at Martin, he was an All-TranSouth Athletic Conference player with a 2.93 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 86 innings pitched. He won the Martin Methodist Athlete of the Year Award in 2004. Jose played Independent ball with Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Jose is now finishing his P.E. degree at Martin Methodist and is working with the pitching staff. Jose will report to Spring Training with the St. Louis Cardinals in April.
