Dee Bell enters his 3rd season as an athletic staff member at Martin Methodist College. He serves as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and hopes the 08-09 campaign will be a success.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Bell graduated from Dawson Springs (Kentucky) High School in 1993 and continued his education at Maryville College. Bell was a four-year starter for the Scots and garnered numerous honors, including 1,000 career points club, top 10 nationally in field goal percentage and being selected First Team All-South Region during his senior year.
Bell’s first season as a collegiate head coach was for his Alma Mater. His five year tenure produced a record of 107-37 for the Lady Scots. Also in that time Bell led the MC to five Great South Athletic Conference Championships, four Tournament Titles and five trips to the NCAA National Tournament. After a brief stint at Reinhardt College, Bell joined the Martin Methodist for the 2007-2008 season. His first squad here at Martin Methodist finished 16-16.
A former elementary school teacher, Bell also spends time teaching activities classes and heads up some of the summer camps here on MMC’s campus. He is a strong voice of the Martin Methodist Character of Champions efforts.
Bell, his wife Sunni and son Braxton (4), reside in Pulaski.
