2007 RedHawk Boys Basketball Camp

June 18-22

The RedHawk Basketball Camp is designed to improve fundamental skills in the areas of offense, defense and rebounding. Campers will be seperated into groups based on age and skill level. Within these groups there will be team and individual competitions. Coach Ficca and his staff interact with the campers and oversee all aspects of the camp using their knoweldge, guidance and leadership to increase each camper's abilities.

Boys entering grades 3-12 in the 2007-08 academic calendar are welcome to attend the camp. It will begin on Monday, June 18 and conclude on Friday, June 22. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. each day and conclude at 4 p.m. Lunch (not provided) will be between noon and 1 p.m. each day.

Total cost for the camp is $100, payable by cash or check (made out RedHawk Basketball Camp). All camp activities will take place in the Curry Christian Life Center on the MMC campus.

2007 RedHawk Soccer Day Camp

June 25-29

Boys and girls six years of age and older are welcome to attend the 2007 Soccer Day Camp. The morning session for children ages 7-11 will take place from 9 a.m. - noon each day, while participantts 12 years old and older will participate in the afternoon session from 4-7 p.m. Check in time is 30 minutes before the start of each camp.

All campers should bring suitable footwear, shin guards and their own soccer ball. Water will be provided for participants, but coolers of ice and drinks may be brought from home.

Cost: $75....T-Shirt provided

The camps encompass the total soccer philosophy, stressing the importance of correct technical training with skill and decision making development through small sided games.  Tactical and functional training will be given to advanced players and teams.   At the end of each session players have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a competitive environment.

 

The camps are directed by Paschal Dunne, a native from Dublin Ireland, who is the men’s soccer coach at Martin Methodist College.  During his tenure he has accumulated a record of 102-64-11 winning five conference championships and voted TranSouth Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2004.  Coach Dunne has a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and was inducted into the UAH Hall of fame in 1996.

 

Coach Dunne has coached players from club soccer to MLS for the past twenty year.  During this time he has accumulated expertise in player development and will pass on his knowledge in a positive environment.  Licensed coaches and collegiate players from around the world will staff the camp.

2007 RedHawk Soccer Residential Camp

July 8-13th
This residential soccer camp is open to all boys 12 years old and older. The camp will last from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with each day broken into three, two-hour sessions: morning, afternoon and evening session. The morning session and afternoon sessions will invlove technique training, with skill and decision making through small sided games. Tactical and functional training will be given to the advanced players and teams. The evening session will involved full games in a competitive environment.

Campers will be provided with lodging and three meals a day on campus. They should bring single bed sheets and pillows for the dormatories.  

Cost - $375.00 (includes meals and accommodations)

 ($100 check or cash deposit)

2007 RedHawk Girls Basketball Camp

June 11-15

The individual camp is designed to improve fundamental skills such as defense, shooting and rebounding. Campers will be seperested into groups based on age and skill level. Within these groups there will be team, league and individual competitions. MMC women's basketball head coach Dee Bell and his staff interact with the campers and oversee all aspects of the camp using their expertise, guidance and leadership to increase each camper's abilities. The MMC Women's Basketball team members will also be instructors in the camp. Prizes will be given at the end of the camp week.

Cost will be $100 for an individual and $75 for an individual within a group of eight or more players

Campers should bring athletic wear (basketball shoes, t-shirt, shorts, etc.), extra socks/t-shirts, if needed, a bag lunch/and or money for the concession stand. Pizza, snacks and drinks will be sold at the concession stand throughout each day and camp week. The camp store, where t-shirts, uniforms and other gifts are sold, will be open throughout the week as well.

These camps are unique and allows players to receive instructions in every area of the game. It is not only for skills or techniques, but we cover several types of defenses and offenses. A complete system of play will be covered with each player and team that attend. Teams that attend will have the opportunity to improve skills, techniques along with a competition tournament schedule at the end of the camp.

STAFF INFORMATION

The camp is under the direction of Rose Magers-Powell. The camp will consist of, current and former Martin Methodist College players, and collegiate, club, and high school coaches from around the area.

FOOD & HOUSING

  • Campers will be staying in a supervised campus dormitory. There is a $50 fee for all lost dorm keys.
  • Campers that board will be given three meals per day. (nonboarding campers will not receive breakfast)  a meal card will be offered to commuters for the lunch and dinner meal for $30.00

Insurance

I hereby authorize the RedHawks Volleyball Camp Staff to act for me, according to their best judgment in any medical emergency and I hereby waive and release said camp from any and all liability for injury and/or illness incurred by my son or daughter while attending the camp. I do understand that my insurance will be primary.
