 MMC Women's Basketball

Martin Methodist College will be hosting a 7-week Fall Basketball League for high school girls. This league will be a great opportunity for female athletes to get ready for their upcoming season and to be seen by college recruiters. The league will be attended by many college coaches from NCAA Division 2 and 3 levels, as well as NAIA and Junior College recruiters. Players will be placed on teams and play a game each saturday starting September 11 and ending on October 23. Martin Methodist Signs Transfer Point Guard

PULASKI, Tenn (8/25) - Cori Jones, who led the Appalachian Athletic Conference in assists last season, has decided to transfer from Bryan College to Martin Methodist College.  She will have one year of eligibility remaining.  Jones averaged 4.3 assists per game for Jamy Bechler’s Lady Lion squad last year.  Bechler is now the head coach at Martin Methodist. (more)
All-Conference Florida Juco Player Signs with RedHawks
PULASKI, Tenn (8/13) - Former North Carolina prep star and junior college standout, Tyffani Fenwick, has decided to continue her academic and athletic career at Martin Methodist College.  The 5’7” guard averaged 13 ppg, 5 rpg, 2.9 apg and 2.3 spg while earning 1st Team All-Southern Conference honors at Palm Beach State CC this past season

RedHawks sign Division I Transfer

PULASKI, Tenn (8/12/10) - After playing at NCAA Division I Radford University last season, Jewell Kinlaw, has decided to transfer and has signed a grant-in-aid to finish her career at Martin Methodist College.  The 5’11 forward saw action in 28 games, while starting 11 of them for Radford last year.  (more)
 

Former Local Star Returns to Play for Martin Methodist
Pulaski, Tenn. (8/7/10) - After starring at the junior college ranks the past two seasons, Volunteer State Community College standout, Vee Young, has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Martin Methodist College.  The 2009-2010 Tennessee Community College Athletic Association East Division Player of the Year will return home to play for Martin Methodist, which is located in Pulaski, Tennessee.  Young grew up in Pulaski and attended Giles County High School, where she scored more than 1000 points and earned All-Region honors(more)

Former Alabama Junior College Player of the Year Signs with Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn.  (7/19/10)—Whitley Mayberry, who was a 3rd Team All-American and Alabama Junior College player of the year during the 2008-2009 season at NW Shoals Community College has signed a letter of intent to finish her athletic career at Martin Methodist College.  Mayberry, a 5’7” guard, signed with NCAA Division I Tennessee Tech University after her junior college career ended. (more)

Santa Fe Stand out Signs with RedHawks
SANTA FE, Tenn. (6/10) - Bobbi Dodson, Santa Fe High School’s star basketball player, has decided to stay in the area to play collegiate ball. She recently signed scholarship papers to continue her academic and athletic career at Martin Methodist College. (more)
Women’s Basketball: O’Neal twins sign with Martin Methodist
LEWISBURG, Tenn. - Tigerette twin sisters LaRhonda and DaRhonda O’Neal recently signed letters of intent to attend Martin Methodist College in Pulaski on basketball scholarships. (more)

Women’s Basketball: RedHawks Finish Season in TSAC Quarter-Finals
MCKENZIE, Tenn. (3/3) – The 2010 season ended tonight for the RedHawks as the No. 6 seed Martin Methodist travelled to play No. 3 seed Bethel University in the Quarter-Finals of the TranSouth Conference Tournament. (more)

MMC Drops Last Regular Season Game
PULASKI, Tenn. (2/28) – In the final game of the regular season the visiting Trojans were a little too much for the RedHawks to handle. Trevecca cruised to a 71-54 win over Martin Methodist on Saturday. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn. (2/22) – Cumberland University was the opponent in this past weekend’s TranSouth Conference game for the Martin Methodist College Women’s Basketball Team. The Bulldogs played the RedHawks close but in the end the MMC was on top 62-58. (more)

PUALSKI, Tenn. (2/14) – Martin Methodist couldn’t quite get in the groove yesterday as they took on the Pipers from Lyon College yesterday in their third TranSouth Athletic Conference game of the week. The Pipers took the game 57-49. (more)

Martin Coasts Past Mid-Con
PULASKI, Tenn. (2/11) – The ladies were on their home court today for an early game as they took on the Cougars from Mid-Continent University. MMC coasted to an 85-43 win notching up their TranSouth Conference record at 5-5. (more)

 RedHawks fall to Top Ranked Teams
(2/9) – Martin Methodist dropped two TranSouth Conference games in three days against NAIA top ranked teams. Saturday Martin Methodist travelled to face NAIA No. 1 Union University L (69-103) and last night the women travelled to Nashville to play NAIA No. 12 Trevecca Nazarene University L (58-65). (more)

LEBANON, Tenn. (1/24) – The RedHawks travelled to Cumberland University yesterday to take on the Bulldogs in their third TranSouth game this week. MMC handed Cumberland a 53-43 loss on the Bulldogs home court. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn. (1/21) – Martin Methodist College upset NAIA No. 6 Freed-Hardeman tonight 65-60 on the RedHawks home floor tonight. This is the first time the RedHawks have beaten the Lions in three years. (more)

RedHawks Win 2 on The Road
(1/17) – The Martin Methodist College Women’s Basketball team went on the road this past week to take on Mid-Continent University and Lyon College. The RedHawks were victorious in both games taking the game from Mid-Continent 77-63 Thursday before beating Lyon College on Saturday 67-64 in overtime. (more)

RedHawks Narrowed by One
PULASKI, Tenn. (12/5) – Martin Methodist College Women’s Basketball was back on their home hard wood last night for only their second home game of the season. They hosted NCAA Division II Georgia Southwestern University in a close game where the Hurricanes edged the RedHawks 67-66. (more)

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (11/24) - Tiffany Travis and Jessy Christopher scored 14 points each in leading Martin Methodist to a 62-49 win over Auburn University at Montgomery tonight for the RedHawks sixth straight win. (more)

RedHawks Win 2 at Weekend Tourney
MCKENZIE, Tenn. (11/16) – Martin Methodist Women’s Basketball Team played in the McKenzie Rotary Classic this past weekend and notched two more wins under their belt. They knocked off Brescia University 79-46 on Friday and squeezed past Great Falls University Saturday with a 69-64 win. (more)

Women’s Basketball: RedHawks Get 1st Win against Bulldogs
PULASKI, Tenn. (11/2) – Martin Methodist Women’s Basketball hosted their first game of the season tonight as the Fisk University Bulldogs came to town. The RedHawks had no problem with the Bulldogs as they won their first game of the season 68-32. (more)

RedHawks Drop First 2 Road Games
MOBILE, Ala. – (11/1) The Martin Methodist College Women's Basketball began their season this weekend on the road in Mobile, Alabama at the Port City Classic hosted by the University of Mobile. They played host University of Mobile Friday night and Xaiver (La.) Saturday afternoon. (more)
