Martin Methodist College: Shontel Johnson joins the RedHawks this season as a junior college transfer to begin her career in the NAIA.
Pensacola JC: Johnson captured Pensacola's Presidential Leadership Award and Free Throw Award while playing for Coach Chanda Rigby. She was also named All-Tournament MVP and Secon Team All-District. She appeared in the junior college all star game and was her team's third leading scorer.
Huffman High School: While playing for Coach Mike Burrus at Huffman, Johnson helped lead her team to numerous state tournaments. Her awards included being named the Huffman Defensive MVP, 6A Region 7 MVP, Gatorade Player of the Year, a National Scholar-Athlete and a selection to the All-City Basketball team in Birmingham.
