Martin Methodist College: Eric Howard returns to the RedHawks men's basketball program for his senior season.
2006-2007:
Columbia State CC: Howard helped his Columbia State team advance to the finals of the National Junior College Athletic Association regional tournament, while averaging 4.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game, good for third in the Tennessee Junior College Athletic Association. He also shot 70.4 percent from the free throw line.
Giles County High School: Howard's most recognizable moment in his high school career may be scoring the game winning basket at the buzzer to give Giles County their first ever boys basketball state championship with a 65-63 victory over Ridgeway High School in 2003. He scored six of his eight points for the game in the second half, to help the Bobcats overcome a 33-29 halftime deficit to the Roadrunners. In that junior season, he averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.3 steals in the state tournament. His 22 points in the semifinals helped lift him to second on the team in scoring for the tournament.
