Martin Methodist CollegeCedric Williams returns for his second season with the RedHawks men's basketball program, bringing his NCAA Division I background and powerful inside force to the center position. Last season he led the post with 14.9 points per game and averaged 6.7 rebounds. He scored his MMC career-high 23 points twice in games at Freed-Hardeman University and Cumberland University.

University of Louisiana at Lafayette: Williams led Louisiana Lafayette to a 20-9 overall record and 12-3 Sun Belt Conference record while leading the Ragin’ Cajuns to a NCAA Tournament berth against North Carolina State. He averaged 9 points, and 4 rebounds as a sophomore. During his freshman campaign, he led the Ragin’ Cajuns to a 20-10 overall record, a 12-3 Sun Belt Conference record, and a NIT appearance versus UAB. He averaged 8 points, and 4 rebounds while being one of the top shooters in the Sun Belt Conference with a 60.3 field goal percentage. He had his first career double with 19 points, and 11 rebounds against Houston. He scored in double digits in eleven games. His two year record totals include a 40-19 overall record and 24-6 Sun Belt Conference record.

Northshore High School: Williams prepped in high school at Northshore in Houston for Coach Gary Nichols. He was a three year starter while averaging 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Williams earned All-District and All-Region honors and while also being named All-State second team honoree. He was named Most Valuable Player of the Southwestern Bell All-Star Game and was a nominee for McDonald’s All-American honors. Williams was named to the Dr. Pepper All-Tournament Team in Dallas, a prestigious prep tournament.

Personal: Williams is a physical education major and will have two years of eligibility remaining. He is the son of Phylis Williams.
