Cumberland Defeats MMC 9-4
Lebanon, Tenn. (5/8) - After being delayed by rain today the RedHawks finally got to play. They were defeated by the Cumberland University Bulldogs 9-4. The RedHawks will now face the winner of the Trevecca Nazarene University/Campbellsville University game to try and keep their season alive. The scheduled game time is 2:30. 2008 All-Region Team Announced
Lebanon, Tenn. (5/7) – The Martin Methodist College RedHawks are on a hot streak winning their first two games and scoring a total of 30 runs in the 2008 NAIA Region XI Tournament held this week in Lebanon, Tenn. Bobby Bratton and Josh Dorris were both selected to the All-Region Team. (more)

RedHawks Put Out Eagles
Lebanon, Tenn. (5/7) - The RedHawks crushed the ball again today scoring 18 runs in the second round of the 2008 NAIA Region XI Tournament, held in Lebanon, Tenn. on the campus of Cumberland University. The RedHawks eliminated the Lambuth University Eagles 18-7 and will play again tomorrow at 10:00 against an opponent that is still to be determined. RedHawks Advance in Winner’s Bracket
Lebanon, Tenn. (5/6) – The No. 6 seed RedHawks beat the No. 1 seed University of The Cumberlands 12-1 in their first game of the 2008 NAIA Region XI Tournament. They will play tomorrow against the winner of the Cumberland University/Lambuth University loser. (more)

The RedHawks Get Bid to Region XI Tournament
(5/2) - After playing a great 2008 TranSouth Tournament and coming in 3rd the RedHawks got a bid to the Region XI Tournament which will be held next week in Lebanon, Tenn. at Cumberland University. More details will be put up as soon as they are available.
 
RedHawks Eliminated in Semi-Finals
Millington, Tenn. (5/1) – The RedHawks Baseball team had a great 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament but couldn’t get past the Cumberland Bulldogs today and were eliminated. The Bulldogs gave the RedHawks a 5-6 loss today. (more)

RedHawks Advance to Semi-Finals
Millington, Tenn. (4/30) – The Martin Methodist College RedHawks scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Lyon College Scots 5-4 and advance to the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament Semi-Finals. (more)

MMC Comes Back With Big Win
Millington, Tenn. (4/29) - After losing a close first game in the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament the RedHawks came back with a big 17-3 win over Bethel College. They will move on and play the loser of the Freed-Hardeman/Lyon game tomorrow at 3:30 in USA Stadium. Hector Lora had two triples and six RBI in the RedHawks win. Matt Sakowicz got the win on the mound as he pitched six innings allowing only one earned run.

Bratton Named TranSouth Player of the Year
Millington, Tenn. (4/29) – Senior Bobby Bratton was named the TranSouth Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Seniors Cliff Panezich and Josh Dorris were named First Team All-Conference and Senior Taylor Bates was chosen for the TranSouth Gold Glove Team. (more)

RedHawks Lose a Close One in Tourney
Millington, Tenn. (4/28) – The RedHawks played the Cumberland University Bulldogs on day one of the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament. It was a close game but the Bulldogs got the edge to take the game 6-5 and move on to the winner’s bracket. The RedHawks will play tomorrow at 1:00 in a win or go home game. (more)

RedHawks Take Final Regular Season Game
Pulaski, Tenn. (4/25) – It was senior day today and senior Bobby Bratton was enjoying his last game at Sam Davis Park by hitting three homeruns and a double to lead the RedHawks in a 10-3 win over Bethel College. (more)

Panezich Selected TranSouth POW
JACKSON, Tenn. (4/14) Cliff Panezich of Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College and Wesley Griggs of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University were named the TranSouth Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively for the week ending April 13. (more)

RedHawks Take One in Cumberland Series 
Pulaski, Tenn. (4/14) – The Martin Methodist College Baseball team hosted Cumberland University this past weekend in a TranSouth Conference series. The RedHawk went 1-2 on the weekend winning the second game of the Saturday double-header 5-3. (more)

RedHawks Sign Rob Kurtz for 08-09 Season
Pulaski, Tenn. (4/11) – The Martin Methodist College RedHawks Baseball Team signed Rob Kurtz a left-handed pitcher/infielder from David Lipscomb High School for the 2008-2009 season. (more)

Cumberland Series to Be Broadcast 
The Martin Methodist College RedHawks will be hosting Cumberland University Friday (4/11) in a single game starting at 6:00 and on Saturday (4/12) in a double-header starting at noon. The series will be broadcast on 98.9 FM and if you

RedHawks Beat No. 7 Bulldogs in Extra Innings
Pulaski, Tenn. (4/2) – The Martin Methodist College RedHawks hosted NAIA No. 7 Tennessee Wesleyan College Bulldogs tonight in a non-conference game. The RedHawks took the game 7-6 in ten innings and move to 20-13-1 overall. (more)

Pulaski, Tenn. (3/11) – After 14 innings of baseball the RedHawks got a run across the plate in the bottom of the 14th to beat the Eagles 5-4. (more)

RedHawks Split with Lambuth
Pulaski, Tenn. (3/10) – After the weekend series looked to be snowed out, the weather warmed up and melted the snow in time for the RedHawks and the Eagles to get in a double-header on Sunday afternoon. MMC won the first game 6-2 and Lambuth won the second game 3-1. (more)

JACKSON, Tenn. (3/5) – Shaun Cozart of Union University and P.J. Roper of Martin Methodist College have been named the TranSouth Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively for the week ending March 1.

RedHawks Sweep Weekend Series
Pulaski, Tenn. (2/11) – NAIA No. 14 Lindenwood University (Mo.) came to town this past weekend for a four game series with the RedHawks. MMC had a great weekend, winning all four of the games. (more)

RedHawks Drop Two on Opening Day
Pulaski, Tenn. (2/4) – The RedHawks baseball team opened up yesterday with a double-header against the No. 16 Auburn University Montgomery Senators. The Senators took game one 1-0 and in the night cap they won 9-6. (more)

Pulaski, Tenn. (1/24) - Coach Ogilvie, “Andrew has proven to be a big pick up for us this season. He has the ability to contribute in a variety of ways.”  (more)
Cliff Panezich: Baseball Senior of the Week
Pulaski, Tenn. (12/18) - Assistant Coach Al Hudson, “Cliff will be our glue behind the plate this year. He came in last year and won the starting job. His strength’s are receiving, throwing, and an overall all out hustle approach. His hitting can be his greatest attribute, as long as he remains consistent. He has worked hard to improve his conditioning and that should be a factor in his success. I hope that with a strong senior year, Cliff will get an opportunity to continue his baseball career.” (more)

Bobby Bratton: Baseball Senior of the Week
Pulaski, Tenn. (12/12) - Head Coach George Ogilvie, “ Bobby is one of our players that will succeed at the next level if given the opportunity. It is very seldom that I get to practice, and not see Bobby on the field working to improve every area of his game. Bobby was a solid contributor in 2007.

Pulaski, Tenn. (11/12) - As you look at the pictures of OUR TEAM’S PRACTICE FIELD, (click on the picture to the right) I  can only hope that you could appreciate how much work has been done to get it where it is today. We are the only Team in our Conference that does not have the opportunity to practice on the Field we play our games on BUT with the help of great friends, and supporters, we now have a practice field that our players can workout. Josh Conatser: Baseball Senior of the Week
Pulaski, Tenn. ( 11/12) - “Josh was red shirted his freshman year as a first baseman. During his next season, he was inserted into the lineup, and provided a spark both offensively and defensively. Josh started at 1B last year, but struggled at the plate and lost his starting position. (more)

Josh Dorris: Baseball Senior of the Week
Pulaski, TN (10/15) - Head Coach George Ogilvie, “Josh will always be one of our special players. He has a TREMENDOUS work ethic, and he shows up to play every day. He works just as hard in the classroom as he does on the field. I enjoy watching Josh play the game, but I don’t know that I am enjoying it as much as he does. (more)

Taylor Bates: Baseball Senior of the Week
“Taylor is a true student athlete. He works hard every day in practice, when he is able to attend. Due to his major, he has afternoon labs. However, Taylor has been asked to do a lot for the team over the past three years at MMC. He has been a starter every year, and is projected to start at 2B for us in his final season. Taylor has played 2B, SS, and 3B, while hitting in just about every slot in the batting order.” Head Coach George Ogilvie concluded his comments with, “ I expect Taylor to have a great senior year, and help us move forward in the Transouth Conference.”  (more)
Brandon Conner: Baseball Senior of the Week
Pulaski, TN (10/1) - “If courage were the prime requisite to be an All American, Brandon Conner would be a unanimous choice. After having multiple knee problems throughout his career, he still wants to put on the gear and catch. It’s in his blood and in his heart.
Brandon hit .379 in the spring of 2007, and we will find ways to get that bat in the lineup. I admire his no nonsense dedication to the game. He will make a fine coach, when they finally peel the gear off,” said Assistant Coach Al Hudson. (more)

Hunter Norton: Baseball Senior of he Week
Pulaski, TN (9/22) - Pitching Coach Michael Wallace says, “ We fully expect Hunter to contribute to our staff in multiple roles this season. He is a very competitive athlete that leaves a positive impression on his teammates. We are working to make minor changes in his arm angle to increase his velocity. He could be one of the most important members on our staff because of his versatility.” (more)

Matt Sakowicz: Baseball Senior of the Week
Pulaski, TN (9/10) - MMC Baseball is going to honor a Senior of the Week this fall, and Matt Sakowicz has been selected as the first honoree.  Matt has been selected to be first, because of his hard work during the summer in his physical conditioning. (more)

Redhawks Baseball Announces 07-08 Recruiting Class
Pulaski, TN (9/10) - Coach George Ogilvie and his staff are proud to welcome a new signing class of 18 recruits. This class is comprised of 6 transfers and 12 freshmen. (more)

Hudson Back as Recruiter
Pulaski, TN (9/7) - Coach Al Hudson is back for a 2nd year on the Redhawk staff. Hudson came on board in January 2007, and was assigned as a recruiting coordinator/hitting instructor. In addition, he was an advance scout for conference games. (more)

 
Michael Wallace Returns To MMC
Pulaski, TN (9/7) - Head Baseball Coach George Ogilvie is proud to announce the return of Michael Wallace as Pitching Coach for the 07-08 Redhawks. Wallace returns after a 3 year absence.
