Martin Methodist College: Robby returns for his fourth and final season with the RedHawks and will serve as a co-captain in 2006. He has played the last two years at second base for MMC, averaging around .250 at the plate. During the TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament in 2004, he led the RedHawks in hitting with a .500 average, helping the team to a third place finish in the tournament. 

Marshall County High School: A 2002 graduate of Marshall County, Robby played ball for coach Joe George. He was the top hitter for the Tigers in both his junior and senior seasons, and led the team in RBI. He served as team captain in 2002, and was named the Spring Athlete of the Year. He was also slected All-District in 2001 and 2002.

Personal: Born July 2, 1984... He is the son of Roger and Ebbett Giles and has a brother, Heath, who was a standout player for David Lipscomb College... Majoring in Biology... His hobbies include hunting, 4-wheelers, and golfing.

 

Coach Ogilvie’s Comments: "Robby is as solid a second baseman as they come. He's very solid turning the double play and has solid baseball knowledge. He needs to improve his batting average, and had a good fall that indicates he may be making strides in that direction. Although not fleet of foot, he runs the bases very well. He'll move runners with both the bunt and hit-and-run. A solid team player. Needs to position himself defensively to be most effective on defense."
