Martin Methodist CollegeMatt returns for his first season of competition after missing 2005 as a medical redshirt due to arm problems, but has recovered quite well after surgery.

He garnered All-Area and All-County awards in baseball and basketball, and was selected to Who’s Who Among American Students and Who’s Who Among American Students-Athletic Edition in both 2003 and 2004. In 2001 he won the team's Defensive Award, and had a .370 batting average as a 3 year starter.

Personal: Born February 10, 1986 in Lacey’s Spring, Ala... He is the son of
L.L. and Mary Eslick... Majoring in biology/pre-vet with double minor in music and chemistry... His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and playing guitar.

Coach Ogilvie’s Comments: "Matt was having a great Fall in 2004 before having to undergo surgery. He's worked hard to get back in shape and is improving each day. He splits time with baseball and the Martin Methodist Chorus, so he missed several hours of practice time in the Fal, but will be with us full time in the spring. He should see some playing time during the pre-conference schedule to see his first college action."
