NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vee Young of Martin Methodist College is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, February 5, 2012. It is the fourth time this season that Young has earned the award.
Young, a six-foot-one senior forward from Pulaski, Tenn., averaged 30.5 points, seven rebounds, 5.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game over a pair of games for the RedHawks. Young scored 33 points in just 34 minutes of play in a loss at No. 3 Union.
Young also added four blocks and four steals against the Bulldogs. In a win over Allen University Young scored 28 points with five rebounds and seven steals.
Young shot 42% (18-43) from the field, 37% (3-8) from three-point range, and hit 78.6% (22-28) from the foul line.
