PULASKI, Tenn. - Last season, MMC's only conference loss at home with the Bethel University, but on Thursday night, they avenged that loss in a 96-85 win. In their first meeting with the Wildcats this season, four RedHawks scored 20 or more, as LaQuantis Stewart notched a 24-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Ree McCrory led MMC in scoring with 25 total points, handing out five assists and grabbing seven boards. James Justice contributed 23 points of his own, handing out a team-high six assists, and matching McCrory's seven rebounds. Jeremy Rodgers continued his success down low in January, draining 21 points and grabbing eight of the glass, as Stewart coupled his all-around performance with four blocks and three assists.

BU scored first from long range to start the game, but neither team would score again until 16:44 when McCrory found Stewart for two. Tied at 11-11 with 14 minutes to go, McCrory put MMC back in the lead with two more points, and from there the RedHawks would build a 53-37 lead into the half.

MMC held a near 20 point lead for much of the second half, but BU would make things interesting with nearly a minute to go, inching within seven points of the 92-85 lead. Stewart, however, would block a Wildcat shot with seconds winding down, and Justice would draw a foul on the next possession to convert both double bonus shots. Demario Williams capped the scoring with a free throw of his own with just seconds to go, and MMC would go on to the 96-85 victory.

The RedHawks take a 16-4 record overall, and a 6-1 mark to Trevecca Nazarene this Saturday, with tip-off scheduled for 4pm.
