Men’s Soccer: Freshman Bruno Mores Earns First TranSouth Player of the Week Honor
Batesville, Ark. (8/31) – Martin Methodist College’s Bruno Mores (Freshman/Monte Azul, Brazil) has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Aug. 29, 2010. The RedHawks secured their first win, 2-1, in the season opener against No. 18 Bethel (Ind.) College on Saturday for a 1-0-0 record so far. (more)
Martin Methodist College will be hosting a 7-week Fall Basketball League for high school girls. This league will be a great opportunity for female athletes to get ready for their upcoming season and to be seen by college recruiters. The league will be attended by many college coaches from NCAA Division 2 and 3 levels, as well as NAIA and Junior College recruiters. Players will be placed on teams and play a game each saturday starting September 11 and ending on October 23. Cost of the league is $80 and covers the league jersey. Volleyball: RedHawks Open 2010 with 3-2 Showing at Aces in August Tournament RIO GRANDE, Ohio (8/29) – MMC volleyball debuted this season on the road, and began their 2010 campaign with a successful Aces in August tournament, hosted by the University of Rio Grande. Martin Methodist went 3-2 over the weekend, coming in second place in the five-team tournament field. (more)
Men’s Soccer: Sixth-Ranked MMC Edges No. 18 BethelCollege, 2-1, in Home Opener PULASKI, Tenn. (8/28) -- No. 6 Martin Methodist College took down No. 18 Bethel College (Ind.) in their season-opener on Saturday afternoon, with a final 2-1 score. Forward Bruno Mores (Freshman/Monte Azul, Brazil) opened his collegiate campaign as a RedHawk by scoring both MMC goals, one in each half.
PULASKI, Tenn. (8/26) -- Ranked sixth in the NAIA Preseason Poll, the MMC women’s soccer team took to the field for the first time in 2010 against University of Mobile on Thursday evening. The teams tangled through regulation and two overtimes, resulting in a 1-1 draw. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn (8/25) - Cori Jones, who led the Appalachian Athletic Conference in assists last season, has decided to transfer from Bryan College to Martin Methodist College. She will have one year of eligibility remaining. Jones averaged 4.3 assists per game for Jamy Bechler’s Lady Lion squad last year. Bechler is now the head coach at Martin Methodist. (more)
MMC Wins Awards at NCA Cheer Camp PULASKI, Tenn (8/18) - The Martin Methodist College cheerleaders attended the National Cheerleaders Association College Cheer Camp July 31 – August 2 at the University of Louisville. Volleyball: Martin Methodist Predicted to Finish Sixth in TranSouth
HENDERSON, Tenn. (8/19) -- After a 14-15 overall record in 2009, including a seventh place finish in TranSouth Athletic Conference standings with a 4-10 TSAC mark, the Martin Methodist College volleyball program looks to rise back to the top in the TranSouth this season. MMC improved in 2009 from just two overall wins in 2008, and looks to continue their turnaround in 2010, despite being chosen by the conference as the sixth-place finisher this season. (more)
Men's Soccer: MMC Earns No. 6 Ranking in NAIA Preseason Poll KANSAS CITY, Mo. (8/19) -- Martin Methodist's 2009 men's soccer team set the bar high for the upcoming season, as the RedHawks earned a trip to their first-ever NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. Head Coach Paschal Dunne guided MMC to the Elite Eight where the RedHawks fell to eventual National Champion Lindsey Wilson. This season, MMC is ranked No. 6 in the 2010 NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 poll, despite being chosen as the second place finisher in the TranSouth Athletic Conference.

Women’s Soccer: RedHawks Ranked No. 6 in NAIA Poll, Tabbed to Win TSAC KANSAS CITY, Mo. (8/18) -- Martin Methodist women’s soccer was ranked No. 6 in the 2010 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll, as it was released Tuesday, August 17th. In-state opponent LeeUniversity topped this year’s poll, followed by Point Loma Nazarene at No. 2. ConcordiaUniversity, LindseyWilsonCollege, and AzusaPacificUniversity rounded out the top five, as the RedHawks checked in the sixth spot. MMC is scheduled to face off with three of the top five teams during their regular season in 2010. (more)
All-Conference Florida Juco Player Signs with RedHawks
PULASKI, Tenn (8/13) - Former North Carolina prep star and junior college standout, Tyffani Fenwick, has decided to continue her academic and athletic career at Martin Methodist College. The 5’7” guard averaged 13 ppg, 5 rpg, 2.9 apg and 2.3 spg while earning 1st Team All-Southern Conference honors at Palm Beach State CC this past season. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn (8/12/10) - After playing at NCAA Division I Radford University last season, Jewell Kinlaw, has decided to transfer and has signed a grant-in-aid to finish her career at Martin Methodist College. The 5’11 forward saw action in 28 games, while starting 11 of them for Radford last year. (more)
Former Local Star Returns to Play for Martin Methodist
PULASKI, Tenn. (8/7/10) - After starring at the junior college ranks the past two seasons, Volunteer State Community College standout, Vee Young, has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Martin Methodist College. The 2009-2010 Tennessee Community College Athletic Association East Division Player of the Year will return home to play for Martin Methodist, which is located in Pulaski, Tennessee. Young grew up in Pulaski and attended Giles County High School, where she scored more than 1000 points and earned All-Region honors. (more)
New Men's Basketball Assistant Coach for the RedHawks Head coach Andy Sharpe and the Martin Methodist College men’s basketball team recently hired David Anderson as its assistant coach. Anderson, a 2004 alum of Nashville Christian School, also starred for the RedHawks from 2005-2008. (more)

(7/19/10)—Whitley Mayberry, who was a 3rd Team All-American and Alabama Junior College player of the year during the 2008-2009 season at NW Shoals Community College has signed a letter of intent to finish her athletic career at Martin Methodist College. Mayberry, a 5’7” guard, signed with NCAA Division I Tennessee Tech University after her junior college career ended. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn. (6/11) – Matt Rackley the Martin Methodist Men’s Golf Coach announced the signing of eight new players for the 2010-2011 season. Cody Phillips, Kyle Brink, Taylor Springer, Joseph Rackley, Chase Bledsoe, Daniel Adcock, Austin Smith, and Coy Shultz have all signed scholarships to play golf for the RedHawks. (more)

(6/9) – Michael Ann Riley, Martin Methodist College’s Director of Athletic Communications will be leaving the RedHawks Athletic Department at the end of this week headed to Louisiana State University to work with the LSU Athletic Department and pursue her Master’s Degree in Sport Management. Softball: De Los Santos and White Selected NFCA All-Region
STARKVILLE, Miss. (6/8) – Martin Methodist’s Karina De Los Santos and Katlin White were selected to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region 2nd Team for the East Region. De Los Santos was selected as an outfielder and White was selected as a pitcher. This years All-Region Team was composed of 15 players from nine different schools in the East Region. (more)

PULASKI, Tenn. (6/7) – JUCO Transfer Kristin Myers signed a scholarship to play softball for Martin Methodist under Head Coach Brandie Paul. Myers is an outfielder who spent her first two collegiate seasons playing a Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, Alabama. (more)

Men’s Tennis: RedHawks Wrap Record Breaking Season
MOBILE, Ala. (5/19) – The 2010 Martin Methodist Men’s Tennis Team wrapped up their record breaking season at the 2010 National Championship in Mobile, Alabama. The RedHawks finish the season with an impressive final NAIA ranking of No. 12, which is the highest ranking ever for the program. (more)
Men’s Tennis: MMC Wins 1st Match
MOBILE, Ala. (5/19) – Martin Methodist College beat Indiana Wesleyan 5-0 in the RedHawks first match of the 2010 Men’s Tennis National Championship. The match was split between two days because of rain but MMC still came out on top. Next up the RedHawks will face Concordia (Calif.) PADUCAH, Ky. (5/13) – Darin Holt, Kris Ruderer, Travis Garcia, and Chad Hunter all received TranSouth Athletic Conference Post-Season Awards. PADUCAH, Ky. (5/11) - Martin Methodist College beat Bethel University 7-4 in a two day nine inning marathon game. Travis Gracia pitched all nine innings to secure the win. The RedHawks will now play Union University tonight at 7:00.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the field of 24 teams for the 59th Annual NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship, held May 18 – 22 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala. The Championship is hosted by the Mobile Tennis Center, Spring Hill College (Ala.) and the University of Mobile (Ala.). This is Martin Methodist first ever National Tournament bid. (more)

Men’s Tennis: Martin Methodist No. 12 in Final Ranking
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (5/4) – The NAIA released the Final Top 25 Coaches’ Poll of 2010 today and the RedHawks moved up three places to the No. 12 spot. The RedHawks finished second in the TranSouth/Southern States Conference Tournament and will now wait to see if they will get an at-large bid to the 2010 NAIA Men’s National Championship May 18-22 in Mobile, Alabama. The field for the NAIA Men’s Tennis National Championships will be announced on May 9. The official bracket will be announced on May 11 by 5:00 p.m.
